San Diego Mesa College to Host Campus Astronomy Night
By Angela Garcia, Office of Communications
San Diego Mesa College’s Fall 2018 STEM Lecture Series returns with Campus Astronomy
Night on Monday, September 10, 2018, from 7:30-9:30pm. Join us for a tour of the night
sky, see several planets and stars, and hear from our very own Dr. Irena Stojimirovic
as she leads a discussion of new findings that Mars may have once hosted life.
A short lecture in G-101 will kick off the event, followed by an outdoor experience
for all to view the sky from the rooftop of the Math/Science building. All ages are
welcomed to attend. For more information and a list of future events, visit http://www.sdmesa.edu/academics/schools-departments/mathematics-natural-sciences/stem-lecture-series/upcoming-events.shtml or contact Irena Stojimirovic at istojimi@sdccd.edu.
Mesa College’s STEM Lecture Series seeks dynamic speakers to give public lectures
on any topic related to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
The goal of the series is to sponsor lectures, workshops, and events of scientific relevance to the larger campus
community. The series is aimed at general audiences without extensive scientific
training, including both STEM- and non-STEM majors.
