  • San Diego Mesa College 2023 Commencement Ceremony

    On Friday, May 26, San Diego Mesa College hosted their 58th Commencement Ceremony, where nearly 700 of the 2,000 academic degrees and certificates earned this year were conferred. Among them are the sixth set of students receiving Bachelor of Science degrees in Health Information Management (HIM), scores of first-generation students, and over 100 each of student-athletes and Promise students. Nearly 650 students graduated with more than one degree, and the Class of 2023 boasted 110 valedictorians and over 700 students who graduated with honors.

  • Mesa College Celebrates LatinX Heritage Month, with the exhibition In Lak´ech: Tu eres me otro yo (You are my other me)

    San Diego Mesa College Art Gallery recently celebrated LatinX Heritage Month, with the exhibition In Lak’ech: Tu eres me otro yo (You are my other me), featuring Artworks by Maria de Los Angeles and Ryan Bonilla. Maria de Los Angeles is a Latinx artist and professor of painting at Yale University School of Art and started her education as a Dreamer at Santa Rosa community college. Ryan Bonilla is a Filipino-American fashion photographer that has worked for Tommy Hilfiger, Burberry and published in ELLE and other fashion magazines. They traveled from the East Coast to attend the reception. Maria de Los Angeles is based in New York.

  • Mesa College Art Gallery Reception and Exhibition: The Shape of Color, the Weight of Light, August 25

    San Diego, CA. – Today, San Diego Mesa College will hold a reception for The Shape of Color, the Weight of Light, featuring artworks by Kaori Fukuyama, Christian Garcia-Olivo, and Melissa Walter. San Diego Mesa College Art Gallery hosts this exhibition of pictorial and sculptural investigations on color, light and texture, featuring recent artworks by San Diego-based artists Christian Garcia-Olivo, Kaori Fukuyama and Melissa Walter. The exhibition will run August 22 – September 8, 2022. Artist Kaori Fukuyama will hold a Gallery Talk on Friday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m., with Gallery walk-throughs and talks on Wednesday, August 31 at 3:00p p.m. and Wednesday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m.

  • San Diego Mesa College Alum Jacob Rapini will Compete in The Bachelorette 2022

    San Diego, CA – Each season, Bachelor Nation is introduced to a more dramatic (and attractive) cast than the last. And The Bachelorette 2022 contestants for Gabby and Rachel’s season are no exception – and includes an alumnus of San Diego Mesa College, Jacob Rapini. Jacob is currently a student at San Diego State University, where he’s been enrolled since 2020. He earned an associate’s degree in Business Administration and Management from San Diego Mesa College.
