San Diego, CA – In Fall of 2022, San Diego Mesa College will offer California's first ever community college-based Health and Wellness Coaching Certificate Program with approval by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC). The National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coaching exam is the gold standard certification in health and wellness coaching and is offered by the Board of Medical Examiners.

The article, entitled, “More Community Colleges Are Offering Bachelor’s Degrees — And Four-Year Universities Aren’t Happy About It”, discusses the merits – and controversy – of community colleges offering four-year degrees. San Diego Mesa College will award the first baccalaureate degrees in the College’s history in May 2018.

San Diego Mesa College ranks top of the California community colleges and California State Universities honored as a “Champion for Excellence in Transfer” for 2016 by the Campaign for College Opportunity. These ten California Community Colleges are producing the largest number of students earning an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) and have demonstrated significant growth in ADT production year over year.
