On April 30, Herruzo won the Merit Award in the Student Commercial category at the San Diego Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Design Awards gala, held at the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park.

Over $180,000 in scholarships were awarded to San Diego Mesa College students on Friday, April 22, at the 23rd Annual Scholarship Banquet, held at the DoubleTree by Hilton San Diego - Mission Valley hotel. 154 Mesa College students received awards, with 42 receiving multiple awards. In total, there were 99 scholarship opportunities, making it one of the biggest scholarship awards ceremonies for Mesa.
