San Diego Mesa College Olympians Football Currently Ranked #1

San Diego, CA. — On Saturday, October 28, the San Diego Mesa College Olympian Football
team will face College of the Desert. Mesa’s 28-23 win over Victor Valley on October
21 secured the Olympians as #1 in the American Conference and #21 in the state rankings.
Mesa’s defense ranks #1 in the state in five defensive categories.
“It will take a total team effort to beat College of the Desert on Saturday night,”
stated Head Coach Peter Lofthouse. “The Olympians are pumped for this weekend, and
are looking forward to being back on home turf on November 4th vs Mt. San Jacinto.”
Saturday’s game will be hosted by College of the Desert (COD) and is expected to be
a difficult challenge for the Olympians. COD has the # 1 overall offense in the American
Mountain Division, while Mesa has the #1 defense in the Division. On offense for
the Olympians, Quarterback Spencer Moyer had a big game against Victor Valley last
weekend, throwing for 22-32, with 223 passing yards as well as three touchdowns. In
the last two games the offense has averaged 31 points per game.
