San Diego Mesa College Student, Wesley Renda, has found a way to change the drinking game forever. He invented a cup called, “WesCup”, that is able to hold three drinks in one cup. The drinking cup allows consumers to enjoy three flavors of their favorite drink at one time. These cups are being sold at 30 stores in San Diego and is going into 7/11 this month.
The Houston Texans continue to pick from the San Francisco 49ers’ coaching staff as DeMeco Ryans forms his new crew with the AFC South. According to Aaron Wilson from KPRC-TV, the Texans are hiring 49ers defensive quality control coach Stephen Adegoke as their new safeties coach.
Denise Rogers is a professor of art history at San Diego Mesa College, manages the college’s World Art permanent collection, and is the curator of “Africa in Context,” currently on display through Feb. 23 at the college in celebration of Black History Month. At the time, she just enjoyed the pictures from galleries in New York, Paris, and Italy. Later, after an introductory art course prompted her to change her major from fashion design to art history, she found a career path that allowed her to pair her love of both history and art.

San Diego Mesa College has announced open registration for Summer 2021 classes. Previously, Mesa posted a SNEEK PEEK of their Summer 2021 class schedule, now online at www.sdmesa.edu/summer. Students can go online to view the schedule now, and sign up for classes.
Over 550 courses are being offered at Mesa College this summer – and students are encouraged to get ahead or catch up on their academic requirements. Summer courses are not restricted to Mesa College students – students from SDSU, UCSD, USD and other universities are encouraged to enroll in summer courses to gain their general education requirements, and save a significant amount of money by doing so.
“We recognize that getting a college education during these times has been unprecedented,” stated President Pamela Luster. “Mesa is here to help – in addition to classes, we offer a variety of student support services to help our students succeed. We are making it easy for ANY student to get the credits that they need to complete their degrees.”
This summer’s offerings, which include both on-campus and online classes, are the most ever offered by Mesa College. Students have several sessions to choose from, including four-week, five-week, six-week, and eight-week courses, with sessions starting as early as June 3 and as late as July. Core summer classes available include Biology, Chemistry, Spanish and Mathematics.
Classes aren’t only for students pursuing a four-year degree. Students interested in Career Education, and who want to gain in-demand job skills can take classes such as Accounting, Business, Child Development, Computer Science, Culinary Arts, Fashion, Fitness, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Health Information Technology, Hospitality, Medical Assisting, Multimedia, Phlebotomy, Real Estate, and Web Development – all of which can be applied towards an Associate’s Degree in their respective Departments.

San Diego - As the leading college of equity and excellence, San Diego Mesa College believes that textbooks should not be a barrier to education. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics there has been a 1041% increase in textbook costs from 1977 to 2015. This increase in textbook costs has contributed to education being prohibitive.
San Diego psychology professor Dr. Inna Kanevsky gained TikTok fame by debunking mental health misinformation on the popular social media platform. She now has more than a million followers as she fights to make content creators stick to scientific facts.
The San Diego Community College District – which includes San Diego City, Mesa, Miramar, and Continuing Education colleges – will no longer require face coverings on district property beginning December 19. The SDCCD made the announcement on November 7, stating the decision was made only after the issue was discussed extensively during the fall semester with SDCCD leadership, the Board of Trustees, labor representatives, a COVID-19 Advisory Group, and other stakeholders.
