Eligibility Requirements
- Attend Mesa during the 2024-2025 Academic Year
- Full time Mesa College Student
- Enroll and complete 12 units each semester
- Completed 24 units by June 2024
- Have or be working towards a 2.75 GPA (cumulative)
- Must be available during the summer: June 3rd to August 16th
- Be able to work on campus and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Culturally sensitive and able to promote diversity, equity, and student support
- Provide name/e-mail address of current SDMC Faculty/Staff for reference check. (Please note: Peer Navigators are not eligible to serve as a reference)
Duties
- Mentor 50-75 first-year students throughout the 2024-2025 Academic Year
- Attend mandatory training (June 3rd to July 3rd, 8am - 1pm)
- Work the 2024 Summer CRUISE, 2025 Winter CRUISE and Saturday CRUISE
(dates and times are subject to change) - Be a mentor by setting a positive, successful example
- Actively mentor your students on a monthly basis for the academic year
- Design workshops, events, and hold office hours
- Motivate your students to achieve their goal
- Participate in Professional Learning
- Attend weekly team meetings during the semester
