Pride Scholars Program
What is the Pride Scholars Program?
The Pride Scholars Program supports LGBTQIA+ students through academic guidance, community-building opportunities, case management, housing, meal, and basic needs assistance.
Program Services Include:
- Academic, Career, and Personal Counseling
- Case Management
- Bookstore Vouchers
- Meal and Transportation Assistance
- Scholarship Opportunities
Who is eligible?
- Identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community
- Be enrolled in at least 6 units (or a unit minimum from DSPS) at Mesa College
- Mesa College must be your school of record
How to Apply:
- Complete the Online Pride Scholars Program Application. You will receive an email between 24 to 48 hours about the status of your application. If you have any questions about the application process or application status, email Lucio Lira at [email protected]
Gender Affirming Gear and Closet
The Gender Affirming Gear Program is a FREE resource for students to obtain necessary gender affirming items, such as:
- Packers
- Chest Binders
- Tucking Tape
- and much more!
To request gender affirming gear, please complete the online application. A Pride Center team member will contact you to discuss the items you are requesting and the timeline for when they will be ready.
The Gender Affirming Closet is a free, donation-run resource for students and staff to use! The Pride Center accepts donations year-round of the following:
- Casual, everyday wear
- Sweaters/Jackets
- Jewelry and other accessories (belts, hats, purses)
- Shoes, heels, boots
- and much more!
We accept donations at any time during open hours. If you have any questions about what to donate, please call the Pride Center or DM us on Instagram @sdmesapride.

Support our LGBTQIA+ Community
San Diego Mesa College is proud to announce the establishment of the LGBTQ+ Inclusivity and Equity Fund. Donations go towards student scholarships, programs, inclusiveness, equity, and understanding for students idenifying as LGBTQIA+.
The program promotes acceptance, belong, safety, compassion, positive self-efficacy, and confidence designed to help students succeed socially and academically.
