About Mesa Pathways
Mesa Pathways provide our diverse student population with clear direction, strong support, and well developed roadmaps to achieving their educational, career, and life goals; whether they aspire to earn a certificate and /or degree, transfer to a university, complete professional development and career advancement, or solely for the love of learning. The educational journey for some students can be lengthy, confusing, costly, and/or inequitable. As an institution, we strive to provide guided exploration, clear paths, increased support, and effective classroom practices to help students work efficiently towards their goals.
We work collaboratively within the college governance structure, utilizing the expertise of all campus and community constituents. Mesa Pathways is committed to using existing structures for program planning and to our fundamental values around preserving comprehensive program offerings, student choice, and equitable practices.
Mesa Pathways Include:
- Policies and practices that are equity minded, student-centered and data informed.
- Differentiated on-boarding processes that help students enter college easily.
- Career assessment tools and program maps that allow students to explore their academic and career goals.
- Maps of programs of study, detailing a suggested order of courses to take each semester to complete a degree or certificate.
- Scheduling practices that support student schedules enabling them to achieve their goals efficiently.
- Proactive academic and student support services provided throughout a student's educational journey.
- Professional development for all constituents on campus in order to ensure student learning.

Goals and Pillars of Mesa Pathways
To create, implement, and scale practices that enable us as an institution to:
- Clarify the Path — assist students in identifying goals.
- Enter the Path — help students embark on the steps toward their goals.
- Stay on the Path — provide ongoing supports to students to continue towards their goals, and/or changing course in informed ways.
- Ensure Learning — implement meaningful approaches and equitable practices to promote learning.
Listen to Dr. Rob Johnstone share how equity is at the heart of our Mesa Pathways efforts.
