Mesa College’s Health Information Technology program is a CAHIIM-accredited program
that provides you with the technical skills you need to maintain patient information
and promote the smooth operation of hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities.
Keeping you up to date with the way today’s technology promotes digital records’ usability,
you will learn how to manage information databases and software to encourage better
communication between patients, medical providers, and insurers. You will benefit
from experiential-learning and directed clinical practice in health care facilities
(following a background check) and put your knowledge of medical terminology and classifications
into practice with real patients. During your last semester in the program, you will
have the opportunity to prepare for the RHIT Certification Exam and ensure your readiness
to begin your professional career as a Registered Health Information Technician.
