Hear from AFT 1931 President Jim Mahler about updates from AFT. Ask questions about your contract, workplace, rights, benefits, and protections.

You’ve been on Zoom for 3 hours! Why don’t you give your eyes a break? Or if you want to have a lunch chat, we’ll provide a zoom room to hang out in.  

1:30 pm - 2:30 pm Canvas Basics - Todd Williamson
Canvas is the learning management system used across SDCCD. Come to this workshop to learn how to troubleshoot, help students navigate their Canvas courses, as well as how to set up Canvas for program purposes to share information with students and the campus.

1:30 pm - 2:30 pm Outlook Tips & Best Practices - Tony Lo
Learn some tips for using Outlook more efficiently! How to manage your inbox, archive emails, backup and retrieve old emails, use mail merge, and more!

3:00 pm - 4:30 pm Printmaking Workshop - Jenny Armer
Learn how to create your own relief carving! People have used relief carving to create art throughout the centuries, from ancient Egypt and Greece to current day. You will start with a flat panel of linoleum and a carving tool to gouge out your design.  Supplies will be available for pick-up during the drive in event on Tuesday. If you are not able to attend the pickup, you will be sent a list of supplies to purchase. 

3:00 pm - 3:50 pm HR Benefits with Q & A - Ursula Salbato, SDCCD Benefits and Retirement Supervisor
Join Ursula Salbato, SDCCD Benefits and Retirement Supervisor, to learn about your benefits. This workshop will cover topics like how to set up a 403b or 457b retirement account and Steps to Retirement, how to take advantage of tax benefits, and will include time for questions and answers.
