Mesa College’s Museum Studies program teaches you the ins and outs of museum work,
from curating exhibits to creating spaces for educational and social engagement. Whether
you want to share colorful anecdotes with visitors or collect, display, and preserve
items that are wrought with history, you will learn the theory and strategic design
behind any museum and art gallery display. As you enhance your knowledge of art and
historical artifacts, you will engage in conversations around the value of spaces
that preserve history and discuss issues of access and artistic merit that concern
public art and museums without walls. Preparing you to hit the ground running in a
career as a museum curator or other job within a museum, the Museum Studies Program
offers an Art Gallery Internship in Mesa College’s on-site gallery where you will
witness first-hand how art exhibitions are installed and affect those who interact
with them.
