Extra! Extra! Read all about it: The Journalism program at San Diego Mesa College prepares you for careers in journalism through theoretical and practical training in print and online news media. Good decision-making hinges on dependable, factual information, and through your education in Mesa College’s Journalism program, you will develop the skills to read and write critically, while using your talents of discernment to help others make sense of the world around them. As a dynamic storyteller and investigator, you will learn how to cultivate your unique journalistic voice and model ethics and integrity in your reporting. You will gain a comprehensive look into the role technology plays in modern journalism and receive training in news writing, reporting, and editing for online mediums. By contributing to The Mesa Press, Mesa College’s campus newspaper (Journalism 210A), you will have the additional opportunity to put your skills to the test and gain first-hand experience producing a newspaper. Whether you’re gaining skills in interviewing, editing, research, or page design, your education in the Mesa College Journalism program will prepare you for a lifetime of purposeful communication, as you graduate and begin your journalism career or continue your education at another institution.
