When you enroll in classes at Mesa College, you are one step closer to earning your
college degree or certificate, transferring to a four-year university, and entering
the career field of your choosing. Explore our programs’ required courses and create
an educational plan that guides you toward your academic goals.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
Both the Certificate of Performance (CP) (10 units) and Certificate of Achievement
(CA) (19-units) are two-semester (one academic year) certificates that can be completed
entirely online.
In the CP, you can expect to take two courses per semester, and in the CA, you can
expect to take 3-4 courses per semester to finish in one academic year. Please see
the Health and Wellness Coaching Program page for an explanation of each program to determine which is most appropriate for you.
CLASS STRUCTURE
EXSC 294 and EXSC 298 are required courses for both certificates and are offered only
in a synchronous (LIVE-live classes required) online format. You will complete EXSC
294 in your first semester and EXSC 298 in your second semester in the program. Each
class is offered once a week for three hours, typically from 5:30-8:30 or 4:00-7:00
PM Pacific Time.
HEAL 107 is required for both programs and is offered online in an asynchronous format
(REMOTE-no live classes required).
The rest of the courses in the Certificate of Performance and Certificate of Achievement
vary in their offerings between online and in-person classes. However, both programs
can be completed entirely online if you select only those offered in the online format.
Note: you may select to take more than one of the available elective courses if you
wish, but only one elective course is required for completion of the Certificate of
Performance.
