The campus is invited to participate in a kick-off, information gathering event to launch the development of the Mesa College Hispanic Serving Institution - STEM Grant development.

This event will help us to understand the purpose of the HSI-STEM grant, including key points such as

  • Capacity-building program for Hispanic-serving institutions
  • Expanding educational opportunities for, and improve the academic attainment of, Hispanic students
  • Supporting STEM opportunities
  • Affecting  institutional change that leads to larger outcomes (increased retention, higher graduation rates)

All faculty and staff are invited -- we need the entire campus to provide their respective input for the grant’s development.

At the kick-off we will discuss:

  • The purpose of the HSI-STEM grant
  • The allowable and unallowable activities for a grant
  • The current outcomes for our Hispanic students in STEM courses and degrees
  • Your ideas and feedback to assist in developing the grant proposal
  • Invite you to join the grant work group
