Kick-Off Discussion for Potential HSI-STEM Grant Proposal

The campus is invited to participate in a kick-off, information gathering event to launch the development of the Mesa College Hispanic Serving Institution - STEM Grant development.
This event will help us to understand the purpose of the HSI-STEM grant, including key points such as
- Capacity-building program for Hispanic-serving institutions
- Expanding educational opportunities for, and improve the academic attainment of, Hispanic students
- Supporting STEM opportunities
- Affecting institutional change that leads to larger outcomes (increased retention, higher graduation rates)
All faculty and staff are invited -- we need the entire campus to provide their respective input for the grant’s development.
At the kick-off we will discuss:
- The purpose of the HSI-STEM grant
- The allowable and unallowable activities for a grant
- The current outcomes for our Hispanic students in STEM courses and degrees
- Your ideas and feedback to assist in developing the grant proposal
- Invite you to join the grant work group
