Learning how to effectively use Zoom is essential for engaging in online teaching. Whether you're teaching music or using Zoom for office hours, this session will cover the basics of setting up quality lighting and sound, navigating and utilizing the Zoom integration within Canvas, and provide an overview of leveraging Zoom for regular substantive interaction with students (we'll dive deeper into this in our next Part 2 in the Za-Za-Zoom Series.) These skills will help enhance the clarity, presence, and interactivity of your virtual classes or meetings, contributing to a more engaging and effective online learning experience.​ Session Takeaways ​ By the end of this session, participants will be able to:​ Identify and apply best practices for setting up camera recommendations, lighting and sound to improve video and audio quality during Zoom sessions.​ Demonstrate how to access, schedule, and manage Zoom meetings using the built-in Canvas Zoom app.​ Implement your Zoom meeting into your Canvas course ​ Utilize Zoom features (e.g., non-verbal queues, screen sharing, breakout rooms, chat) to facilitate regular substantive interaction in online learning.​
