A Talk by Prof. Mychal Odom of Black Studies

The San Diego Mesa College Ethnic Studies Faculty Council (ESFC) invites you to attend: "Toward a Relational Study of Race and Ethnicity: What is Gained - What is not Lost" presented by Dr. Mychal Odom, of Black Studies.

In this lecture, we will examine the historical emergence of Ethnic Studies in the 1960s and 1970s; define and contrast the "Comparative Model" of Ethnic Studies to the "Relational Model" of Ethnic Studies; highlight the importance of the "Relational Model of Ethnic Studies"; identify the presence of racial scripts"; identify the presence of "counter scripts"; and relate these concepts to contemporary life.
