Ay, yo. What's Good?' 'Hello, how are you?': Linguistic Bias Awareness & Linguistic Justice

Description: In this interactive informational session, I will provide an awareness campaign around linguistic biases and linguistic racism. This would include definitions and examples of linguistic bias and linguistic racism along with illustrations from various contexts, like the legal system, educational settings, and professional spaces. I would also invite participants to reflect on these definitions and examples through a workbook and/or verbal discussions. This session would be ideal for all employees with a special invitation to administrators and classified professionals.
