Jewish Identities and Issues: a Workshop
Workshop will be held in SB-218
The participants will learn that Judaism is an ethnoreligion, that Jewish identities extend beyond and outside of Judaism as a faith, that all Jewish people are connected ethnically and culturally even though many diverse subgroups exists, that even Ashkenazi Jews are not “just Europeans” or “just white,” that antisemitism existed long before and continued after the Holocaust, that there are many harmful variants and tropes within it, and that college faculty and students should be aware of these issues.
