Queer in the Borderlands
Panelists will discuss and expand on their experiences as queer activists, creatives, thinkers, and scholars doing work in the US/Mexico borderlands. Inspired by Gloria Anzaldúa’s borderlands theory, this panel seeks to interrogate the concept of borders as violent and oppressive tools of subjugation whereas borderlands represent an 'in-betweenness' that is inventive, transgressive, and teeming with possibility.
