Celebrating 20 Years of Teatro Izacalli

The Presentation "Celebrating 20 Years of Teatro Izcalli" focuses on Chicano Theatre in San Diego, and its role as a cutural/political expression.  

Founding and current members of San Diego's Teatro Izcalli will share their experiences with the San Diego Mesa College community and discuss how participating in this group has impacted them.  

Members will also perform some of their most popular "actos" for the Mesa College community. This event is part of our annual Chicano/Latino Heritage Celebration Series which invites scholars, artists, and activists from the Chicano community to share their personal experiences and provide our students with a perspective of Chicano history and activism that cannot be encountered solely in textbooks or classroom lectures.
