Women Leaders in Caring Professions
"Caring professions" is a term that social scientists use to refer to professions requiring emotional labor as part of the work being done. These professions are integral to the basic functioning of society, but are often underfunded or devalued, like teaching, nursing, child and domestic care, and social work. Join us for a panel event with women leaders in caring professions who will discuss their experiences as women building careers in social work, community advocacy, and education. Our panelists will include leaders from Voices for Children and the Court Appointed Special Advocate program in San Diego, and Mesa College's programs for EOPS and students who were formerly in foster care.
