STEM Lecture Series Event: Mapping the Large-Scale Gas Flows that Feed Nearby Galaxies
Dr. Kate Rubin, SDSU Astronomy Professor, will discuss the galactic-scale gas outflows that are thought to play a key role in the rate at which galaxies form new stars. Professor Rubin will also describe the STARS program, an astronomy-focused summer school to be hosted at SDSU this July, in which students will work with data to do their own explorations of galaxies (STARS is accepting applications now through March 15).
