Art Exhibition - Chromatic: Grounding with Color
Chicana artists Katie Ruiz and April Rose paint fantastical female characters inhabiting enchanted landscapes and covered with blankets decorated with Mexican indigenous designs. They have developed a unique visual language based on their study of the symbolism of Latin American textiles, particularly the Otomi designs known as Tenango that have prehistorical roots in Central Mexico.
