Women's History Month: Local Black Women Poets: From Where I Stand
Local Black women poets, including Dr. Judy Sundayo, Chair of the Committee for Diversity Action, Inclusion & Equity, Dr. JoAnne Cornwell, Professor Emeritus SDSU and Rev. Alyce Smith Cooper, fondly known locally as the Golden Brown Fairy Godmother, will read from their poetic works having to do with the experiences of African American women. In concert with the theme of “Women Rising” for Women’s History Month, the presenters will focus on poems that uplift and inspire! Co-sponsored by the Black Studies Department and the Committee for Diversity Action, Inclusion & Equity.
