Understanding Immigration: Emic and Etic Perspectives
In recent history, the polarizing topic of immigration in America has undergone immense scrutiny, highlighting the faults of the immigration system and causing an increase in social stratification. Attend this night of discussion to learn more about the past and present states of immigration, and take part in active discussion regarding current events.
Cultural Geography Professor Waverly Ray and History Professor Gloria Kim will be giving presentations on the past and current states of immigration. Student speakers will then share an insider’s perspective on the matter, giving their personal accounts on what being undocumented in America is like.
Presented by the Mesa Anthropology Club.
