The Langston Hughes Project: Ask yo Mama - 12 Moods for Jazz

This event will be a multi-media presentation of the Langston Hughes poem, Ask Yo Mama. It will include a video as well as a live musical performance by a jazz quartet, lead by Dr. Ron McCurdy, form the Thornton School of Music as USC. A Q&A will follow.

This event will educate students, faculty, and staff about one of the works of the renowned African American poet, Langston Hughes. It will also help faculty appreciate how music and literature can be combined to accentuate learning and enjoyment.
