Mesa Reads Book Club
Faculty, staff and administrators voluntarily gather two mornings per semester to participate in the book club. The first meeting is an introductory meeting (1.0 hour) to explain the program, begin to build a sense of group connection, and provide books. The second meeting lasts 2.0 hours and includes a meal and the discussion of the book. Participants receive Flex credit for the meetings, discussion, and up to 3.0 hours reading time.
This semester we will be reading "I Am Intelligent" by Peyton and Dianne Goddard with Carol Cujec, which is an autobiographical/memoir book related to mental illness, learning abilities, teaching, and learning, with a focus on the humanities.
The goal is to enhance participant's knowledge base, especially related to modifying and enhancing practices to engage students; provide an opportunity to share and analyze literary works; and strengthen faculty/staff/administrator relationships.
Faculty Flex credit is available, Faculty will be enrolled in this pre-approved Flex activity.
