Jacob Garcia

Jacob is a Civil Engineering Major at Mesa College. 

Here is what being a STEM Community Scholar means to him: 

To me being a STEM Scholar means not only being a leader, but also a representative of the STEM community to other students and peers. Being part of the STEM community means that we strive to be at the forefront of sciences, technologies, and education that will impact our future. As STEM scholars we need to be willing to teach others the importance of the STEM disciplines, and perhaps invigorate that spirit within our peers. It also means being connected with other students in different studies and being part of a community driven by making impacts in the world around them. I hope to share my experiences I had in the STEM Scholar program so that others might also find interest and have the amazing opportunities and experiences I have had.
