This is what being a STEM Community Scholar means to him:
I have always been interested in getting my major in a field of science. I have recently discovered that there is a STEM community scholars group at my local college. I believe this gives me a sort of responsibility towards the other students, to let them know that there is a STEM center in their school. This STEM center can help them with their science related classes and learn about new opportunities. Being a STEM community scholar means to me that I have to make a positive change in my community and encourage other students such as myself, that had difficulty approaching the STEM center, and letting them know that anyone can be part of the STEM community. Being a STEM Community Scholar has helped want to become a student who is more involved in extracurricular school activities and has made me someone who wants to set an example for other students. I believe it is important to encourage students to pursue careers that are STEM related and motivate them when is it possible.
