Counseling Services
Welcome to Mesa College Counseling!
Mesa College Counselors are available to meet with you in a variety of ways to assist in helping you achieve your academic goals. We are committed to providing a positive college experience for you through several methods. Whether you're pursuing a certificate of achievement, Associates degree, transfer from Mesa to a university, or personal counseling/development, we are here to support you!
The following counseling services are available:
Counseling Quick Questions (Ask a Counselor)
You can email a counselor at mesacoun@sdccd.edu for quick questions regarding general topics such as: summer/fall registration dates and form processing assistance. These are for quick question and answer sessions and are NOT designed for intensive information. Your student record will not be accessed. This can take up to 2-4 business days for a response.
Drop-in Counseling
Counselors are also available for brief advisement sessions, commonly referred to as Drop-in counseling. Drop-ins are 10-15 minute brief counseling sessions that are available in-person or remotely via phone or Zoom. Drop-in counseling sessions are intended to address quick questions specific to a student’s academic record. During these sessions, counselors will be able to access your personal information and provide details specific to your academic record. Drop-in counseling is available same-day on a first-come, first-served basis. If accessing remotely, a counselor will typically contact you within a 2-3 hour time frame.
To sign up for drop-in counseling, please visit us in-person or contact the counseling department by phone at (619) 388-2672 or email: sdmesafollowup@gmail.com
COUNSELING APPOINTMENTS
60 minute appointments are also available for more in-depth counseling sessions related to academic planning or to address complex questions or issues. Appointments will be conducted in person or by video conference. A computer or smart device will be needed for video conference appointments. Appointments can be made one week in advance but will be limited during all class registration periods.
To schedule an appointment, contact the counseling department in-person, by phone at (619) 388-2672, by email: sdmesafollowup@gmail.com, or through E-sars(online scheduling service). Please note that in-person counseling appointments must be made in-person or by phone.
