I am excited to welcome you to our 2024 Jumpstart at San Diego Mesa College!

At the event you will meet our dedicated Mesa College family: faculty, staff, students and administrators who are all here – ILLUMINATING PATHS – towards your success. We are committed to guiding you on the journey to discovering your passion and purpose. Our collective efforts are carefully crafted to support you in making informed decisions about career paths, degrees, or certificates that align with your aspirations. As one of San Diego’s leading transfer institutions, we can help you get your Career Education degree or plan to transfer to a four-year institution. You’ll hear directly from 4-year university representatives, including UCSD, SDSU, and CSU San Marcos.

At Jumpstart, you’ll find out about student services and support programs, visit workshops and booths, and participate in college-level exercises. You can talk to a professor, staff member or current student, and take a tour through our beautiful campus and buildings. You can learn about financial aid and the San Diego Promise Program, which offers free tuition to eligible students.  You’ll discover what makes Mesa “The Leading College of Equity and Excellence,” and the college of choice for over 20,000 students, and be inspired by the endless possibilities of a future at Mesa College.

I look forward to personally meeting you today, and hope to welcome you soon as one of our newest Olympians!

Sincerly,

Dr. Ashanti T. Hands
President
San Diego Mesa President
