CRUISE Program Mission
Creating Rich Unique Intellectual Student Experiences (CRUISE) aims to prepare and engage new, incoming students through an on-campus experience. Participants will successfully identify resources necessary to excel academically, connect with a Peer Navigator, and get to know other first-year students leading to a sense of belonging.
About CRUISE
- Connect with a Peer Navigator who will serve as your mentor
- Receive support during CRUISE and the academic year
- Build community and meet other incoming students
- Learn about campus resources and student life
- Participate in workshops aimed at your transition to Mesa College
ELIGIBILITY
- Be a new student to San Diego Mesa Colllege for the Fall 2022 semester
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
- Attend and participate in all CRUISE activities
- Meet with a Peer Navigator once a month during the spring semester
- Participate in campus events and workshops throughout the spring semester
- Utilize tutoring services, and other student support resources
- Inform a counselor of any changes to academic schedule
- Commit to excel in all courses and meet with professors during office hours

We have multiple CRUISE sessions that are designed to meet the needs of our diverse student population:
RECENT HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES
Summer CRUISE is designed for all new, incoming students who recently graduated from high school or have graduated from high school and have not attended college in the last three years. We are offering multiple two-day sessions on-campus, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM (lunch provided):
Wednesday, July 6 - Thursday, July 7
Tuesday, July 12 - Wednesday, July 13
Tuesday, July 19 - Wednesday, July 20
Tuesday, July 26 - Wednesday, July 27
We will also be offering multiple three-day virtual sessions, aimed for students who are only taking online classes during the Fall 2022 semester:
August 2 - 4, from 9:00am - 11:00am
August 2 - 4, from 1:00pm - 3:00pm

new students transitioning from continuing education, veterans, and adult learners
Our Saturday CRUISE sessions is open for new students who are transitioning from Continuing Education, the Armed Forces, and Adult Learners who have yet to attend college. We have multiple sessions available, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on:

CURRENT MESA COLLEGE STUDENTS
If you are a current Mesa College student, and this is your second or third year,
consider attending our Summer CRUISE session for Second/Third-Year Students! You will
get paired with a Peer Navigator for the academic year, and our CRUISE session will
help you explore your major and career options. This session will be held online via
Zoom!
