UPDATED ALLIED HEALTH APPLICATION INFORMATION:
As the college and district offices are currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic,
please follow the campus procedures for submitting and processing official transcripts
from all other institutions attended. Instructions are available at the following

For Allied Health Programs Admissions, applicants must upload a PDF copy of their transcripts from SDCCD or other institutions attended which demonstrate completion of prerequisite courses required for the program to which they are applying. Final program acceptance is contingent upon verification of successful completion of all mandatory prerequisites.
Please refer to individual program department webpages for more information regarding specific transcripts due dates, transcript evaluation requirements, and to determine whether in progress prerequisites will be accepted and specific program deadlines.
There are nine programs within Allied Health department: Dental Assisting (DENA), Health Information Technology (HEIT) which includes a Coding Specialist Certificate, Health Information Management (HIMS), Medical Assisting (MEDA), Neurodiagnostic Technologist (NDTE), Phlebotomy (PHLB), Physical Therapist Assistant (PHYR), Radiologic Technology (RADT) and Veterinary Technology (VTAH). All Allied Health Program students are required to complete a criminal background check, a 10 panel drug screen, a physical exam, provide immunization records or titers verifying immunity (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis) and Tuberculosis status prior to being placed at a clinical facility. Some programs may also require proof of Influenza immunization during flu season.
Students are responsible for the following costs:
1. American Databank Complio Immunization Tracker - $24.00/year
2. Background Check & Drug Screen Combo package - $77.00/year, additional costs may
apply if you have lived outside of the state of California.
3. Immunizations, titers, physical exams, and other health screenings-costs will vary.
Mesa College Student Health Services offers the following services:
Physical Exam at- $35.00
TB skin test- $8.00
Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (Tdap) - $45.00
MMR- $79.00
Hepatitis B Series- $62.00
Flu vaccine- Free
*Students may see their own medical provider if preferred.
Allied Health programs require clinical rotations or work experience courses with district clinical affiliates. COVID-19 vaccination verification may be required by the clinical affiliates and employers.
Properly fitted masks are required for all on-campus and clinical rotation/work experience instruction.
ATTENTION ALLIED HEALTH STUDENTS: You must complete the following required training prior to starting your DIRECTED
CLINICAL PRACTICE (DCP) or Work Experience. Please complete the training prior to
your program orientation and bring verification of completion to your program orientation.

Students applying and entering Allied Health Programs are encouraged to take ALLH
048, Basic Skills for Health Care Careers, prior to starting their program. This
course will be offered in Spring 2021.

Program Information Sessions
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, all Spring Information Sessions will be held virtually. Zoom information will be posted on department pages.
Note: Please check this website the DAY of the session for any changes that may have been required. Reservations not required. Campus parking policies are enforced. Parking day passes can be obtained at several parking machines located throughout the parking lots.
