Top 5 Places to Eat and Chill at San Diego Mesa College

Welcome to San Diego Mesa College’s 2024 fall semester. There is nothing worse than having a full day of classes and realizing you forgot to pack a snack. Fortunately, Mesa College has you covered with plenty of options for quick bites or full meals during your breaks.  

 

1. 72Fifty Restaurant 

Located on the second floor of Mesa Commons and powered by Mesa College’s top-shelf Culinary Arts program, this student-run restaurant serves fine dining at anaffordable price. Offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner at an affordable price allows students to try top-notch culinary meals curated by students. The restaurant offers an online Take-out ordering system or a dine-in service with a relaxed environment, inside or out, while still being able to pull up your laptop and do some last-minute studying. 

Hours vary throughout the semester, so be sure to check online at sdmesa.edu/72fifty, before visiting. 

 

2. Mesa Commons 

Whether you are craving burgers, pizza, or something lighter like salads and sandwiches, Mesa Commons has you covered. Conveniently located on the first floor, you will find:

  • Mesa Commons Around the World (PANGEA) 
  • Mesa Commons Pizza (COSMOS)

With a variety of options right on campus, you can satisfy your hunger without sacrificing your parking spot. 

Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. 

 

3. Terrace Cafe 

Located on the fourth floor of the Student Services Building, the Terrace Café offers a variety of coffee, tea, energy drinks and small bites for students and faculty on the go.

The Student Services Building holds numerous spaces where you can sit, work, and enjoy a quick snack.

Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. 

 

4. Library and LRC 

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) offers multiple floors with private study rooms, group study spaces, solo desks, and comfortable seating. Whether you are looking to unwind before class or get a jump on your homework, the LRC has a space to fit your needs. On the first floor, you will find an array of vending machines that offer small bites, quick snacks, and drinks to keep you energized for your next class.

5. Farmers Market 

The Farmer's Market is a monthly event made possible through a partnership with Feeding San Diego. It offers students and members of the Mesa College community access to fresh, high-quality produce at no cost. From strawberries and avocado to rice and dairy products, students and faculty can pick up a few essential items for free. Be sure to bring your own shopping bag (one will be made available in case you forget). 

Farmers Market

The Market takes place 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month (except certain holidays) between Mesa Commons and the Quad. A full schedule can be found here.
