On Saturday, March 2, Mesa College will host multiple interactive booths on EXPO Day at Petco Park, via the San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering. EXPO Day, now in its 11th year, is a FREE day-long celebration of STEM in San Diego, where non-profits, educational institutions and corporations hold exhibits and provide activities for children K-12. The Science Festival’s mission is to engage and encourage kids in science and engineering and work with parents and teachers to inspire today’s students to become tomorrow’s science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) innovators.
“Mesa College – via our STEM Conexiones Program - is a proud Sponsor of EXPO Day,” stated Dr. Leticia P. López, Hispanic Serving Institution and STEM Grants Program
Manager. “Highlighting our programs helps us build community by deepening our outreach
efforts and connecting with underrepresented students in STEM, women, low-income,
and historically underrepresented students.”
Mesa College will host three booths on Expo Day - STEM Conexiones, Fashion in STEM, and Psychology/PsiBeta – with faculty, staff and students at each booth offering interactive, hands-on science and technology activities for budding K-12 science lovers.
