San Diego Mesa College’s Financial Literacy Series is back by popular demand to present students with more exciting speaker events for the fall 2018 semester.

The Financial Literacy Speaker Series launched its first lecture on $mart $pending in February 2017, and attendees have been filling classrooms ever since. With past topics on simple tax filing, credit scores, and wise investments, students and faculty alike keep coming back to learn more.

The Financial Literacy Series will kick off the 2018 fall semester with an exciting speaker event on Thursday, September 27, from 11:30am-12:30pm in Room LRC 435, entitled, “Till Debt Do Us Part: Money Issues in Dating, Marriage and Divorce.” Speaker Laurie Itkin will present on financial empowerment and the importance of communication in relationships. She is a financial advisor, wealth manager, and certified divorce financial analyst (CDFA) with a passion for empowering women to become financially independent and secure.

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend this dynamic presentation. Future sessions this semester include topics “Your Credit and You,” “Wise Investing Basics” and a panel session “Ain’t No Question Hard Enough.”

The Financial Literacy Speaker Series program is made possible by the support from the California Coast Credit Union and the San Diego Financial Literacy Center. For more information, about the events or the Financial Literacy Series, contact Howard Eskew at 619-388-5957 or heskew@sdccd.edu.
