San Diego Mesa College Athletics has a strong history of sending athletes to the Olympics, and this year, despite the pandemic, is no exception. U.S. Paralympics Track & Field announced that Wesley Williams and Moray Steward, of San Diego Mesa College, will guide T11 athletes Lex Gillette and David Brown, respectively, at the Paralympic Games Tokyo 2021. As guides, Williams and Steward are considered full members of the 2020 Paralympic Track and Field team.

Troy Cristobal is the winner of this year’s 2020 Mesa Scholarship President’s Award, given annually to a deserving Mesa College student who demonstrates leadership and academic excellence in their undergraduate career. Troy is a worthy recipient on both counts, having served as team captain for Mesa’s track and field team since the spring of 2019, and set to graduate this May as an Engineering major with a cumulative 4.0 GPA.

San Diego, CA. — In March, Mesa track and Field athletes took top honors in the respective events in multiple competitions across the state. Mesa athletes competed against rigorous competition at four-year colleges such as Cal State Los Angeles, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State San Marcos and Soka University. They competed against athletes from some of the biggest schools, including USC, UC Irvine, Cal Poly, Pepperdine, Cal State Northridge, Long Beach State, and UC Santa Barbara. the article
