Designed for students looking to complete or further their education, the rankings evaluate fashion design programs in California. In order to create the list of the best fashion design schools in California, Best Universities has collected college data sourced from the U.S. Department of Education National Center for Education Statistics survey.

The Mesa College Fashion Department’s students, alumni, and faculty have teamed up to address the issue of mask shortages in the healthcare industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They are mobilizing sewists and manning their machines, with some putting their own businesses and operations on pause to support the needs of hospital workers and their patients. Together, they have already managed to sew and distribute hundreds of masks throughout the community.

Mesa Fashion students recently visited the Coronado Public Library for an exclusive tour of the Edith Head Exhibition. The exhibit, displayed in conjunction with the Coronado Film Festival’s “Focus on Fashion,” showed design renderings and sketches by Fashion Icon, Edith Head.

San Diego Mesa’s College Fashion Program will be hosting the 37th Annual Golden Scissors Fashion Show at The Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina on May 11, 2018. The students who are enrolled in the Fashion Promotion course are organizing and producing the entire show, which will help them gain the experience needed for their industry. Various apparel to be highlighted in the event includes children’s wear, evening gowns and special occasion, daywear, club-wear and more.

Since 2012, the San Diego History Center and Mesa College’s Fashion Program have partnered to create and host a unique annual event: Fashion Redux. This year’s theme is Fashion Redux: 90 Years of Fashion features designs ranging from the late 1920’s to present time. Throughout early Spring, Mesa Fashion students have worked diligently to prepare their individual garments for the show and upcoming Grand Reveal event on April 26, 2018.
