Assessment is an important part of the matriculation process in which students are guided through the college curriculum and selecting courses best suited to their abilities and educational goals. Assessment is a process that includes tests and other measures and is designed to assist students in meeting course prerequisites. Students who are seeking the following educational objects are asked to take an assessment test:
- Obtain a degree, certificate, or transfer program
- Enroll in English or mathematics course
- Enroll in a course that has English or Math as prerequisites
Assessment is followed by an orientation.
Exempt Students
Students who are exempt from taking the assessment test or have already taken their assessment tests but have not attended an orientation may make an orientation appointment in the Assessment Office.
