Students must have an application on file and possess a college student I.D. number in order to attend a testing session, new student orientation, and first semester planning workshop. Please stop by I4-201 or call (619) 388-2718 or email the testing staff at firstname.lastname@example.org to check availability or to see which matriculation components you may need to complete.
Students can check in at the Testing Office, room I4-201, to take their exams. These exams are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and there may be a wait. ESOL tests are available by appointment only.
**Please plan ahead: Allow adequate time to complete the assessment tests. Students usually take 1.5 to 2 hours to complete both tests.
New Matriculating Students: Any student who has not previously attended another college is considered a New Student. You must complete the Online Orientation prior to your assessment. You will be asked to provide the "Orientation Learning Outcomes" form when you check in for an exam. Please be sure to bring it. Following the exams, you will be asked to complete the First Semester Planning Workshop. Exams will be available on a walk-in basis following the availability below. Please note: there may be a wait, so please plan accordingly.
Math and/or English Exams for Transferring/Continuing/Returning Students: If you have previously attended Mesa, or are transferring from another institution, or are currently a student, you may test on a walk-in basis.
ESOL/Non-Native English: Available by appointment only. Please contact the Testing Office to check availability.
Students are required to present a picture ID in order to be admitted. Please arrive early! Check-in begins 15 minutes before the appointed start time, or at the published walk-in start time. If you miss your scheduled appointment or arrive late, contact the Testing office to reschedule.
