MUSI 105 Music of Our Time

3 hours lecture, 3 units
Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass Option

Description: This course is a study of music history and music current affairs from 1900 to the present day. Methods and issues that innovative musical artists have faced or currently face are examined. The nature of the compositional act as it has evolved over the past 100 years is also explored. Students study a wide variety of styles, forms and media of musical output in this historical period from as many different perspectives as possible. This course is designed for both the general student as well as students who intend to further their music studies.
