ANTH 215 Cultures of Latin America

3 hours lecture, 3 units
Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass Option

Description: This course is a study of the cultural history of Latin America from precolumbian to colonial and contemporary civilizations. Emphasis is placed on the Mesoamerican and Andean civilizations. Students use contemporary anthropological research, ethnohistoric and archaeological data to assess and compare the rich cultural experiences of past and present peoples. This course is intended for anthropology majors and all students interested in Latin American civilization and culture.
