ANTH 120 Archaeological Artifact Analysis

2 hours lecture, 3 hours lab, 3 units
Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass Option

Description: This course is a practical study of archaeological artifact analysis. Emphasis is placed on artifact typology and seriation methods used in the preparation of archaeological reports. Students learn the most current techniques for describing, classifying, cataloging and documenting archaeological materials. This course is designed for students majoring in anthropology with an emphasis in archaeology and for anyone interested in a career in the field of archaeology or employment in Cultural Resource Management (CRM).
