Jill holds a B.A. degree in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and an M.A. degree in Professional Writing from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles (USC). She is also pursuing an Ed.D. degree in Educational Leadership (Community College Leadership) at San Diego State University.
In 2005, Ms. Moreno Ikari successfully completed the SDICCCA Internship Program at Southwestern College. Since then, she has been an adjunct instructor of English at Southwestern and has volunteered extensively in the college’s Writing Center. She has held similar adjunct teaching positions at Cuyamaca and Grossmont Colleges and at Miramar College as well, where she is also Coordinator of the Supplemental Instruction/Personal Learning Assistance Center. She is highly effective working with diverse student populations and has experience as a student in study abroad programs. She has also written curriculum for both in-class and online instruction.
With her Master’s degree in Professional Writing, Ms. Moreno Ikari has had a career as a talented and prolific writer. She has been a free-lance writer for the past eight years and has written and edited numerous articles and publications. She has been an editorial assistant for local newspapers and magazines and has also contributed to their website content. She was Public Relations Assistant with SDYCS, the San Diego Youth and Community Services. She participates regularly in professional workshops and conferences, among them the 2008 Basic Skills Initiative Summer Institute.
