CHIC 141A United States History from a Chicano Perspective

Description: This course is a survey of early American history from the Mexican/Chicano perspective. It covers the period of discovery to the period of Reconstruction with emphasis on the evolution, influence, and experience of the Chicano. It includes their contributions to the political, social, economic, and cultural development of the United States. This general education course would be of interest to students studying history, ethnic studies, or other social sciences. This course partially satisfies the American Institutions requirement for the associate degree and for transfer to CSU.
