How long have you attended Mesa College? This is my fourth semester at Mesa College.
Why did you choose Mesa College? After a brief and unsuccessful stint with a school outside of our District, I overheard students discussing the caliber of Mesa's Faculty and stating that was their reason for planning to leave Southwestern for Mesa.
What have you enjoyed most about your Mesa College experience? I've had so many incredible experiences at Mesa. First, the faculty are amazing. They are completely competent and effortlessly infuse life lessons into the curriculum. I've enjoyed meeting Chancellor Carroll and President Cepeda - knowing that they genuinely care about the students makes the atmosphere so much more welcoming.
How is Mesa College preparing you to achieve your academic goals? Even in the midst of budget cuts, we have so many resources still available due to the administrations foresight. We have people like Naomi Grisham in the Transfer Center that know the system inside and out and don't hesitate to help students. People like Judy Sundayo in Counseling take their personal time to ensure that you get your academic plan.
What resources/services have supported you through your Mesa College experience? When I first started Mesa College, I didn't know about the FAFSA and Pell Grant. Being able to work with key departments such as Financial Aid has helped me map out the next 9 years of my life.
How would you describe student life at Mesa College? Student life is active at Mesa College. On average we have between 25 - 35 clubs on campus. Our ASG is also active on campus sponsoring and hosting events.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? 10 years I see myself campaigning for a Congress seat so please remember the name "Mason Walker."
