Guest Information

Timeline for Ceremony

  • 2:00 pm:  Doors to the Pavilion will open and guest seating will begin. (Seating is a on first come, first serve basis.)
  • 3:00 pm:  Commencement Ceremony begins.
  • 6:00 pm: Commencement Ceremony concludes.
    Out of respect for other graduates and their families,
    please do not leave until the ceremony is complete.

Mesa College's Commencement Ceremony is located in the Jenny Craig Pavilion on the University of San Diego (USD) campus at:

TIckets Required for guests

The Commencement Ceremony is FREE for guests to attend. However, tickets are required for entrance to the ceremony for all guest ages three (3) years old and older. See below for more ticket information.


Parking

Parking is FREE. It is recommended that guests park in the University of San Diego's (USD) Mission Parking Structure because it is closest to the venue. However, this lot can fill up quickly, so please follow campus police directions and guidance on parking at all times.

To get to the USD Mission Parking Structure: From the main entrance to USD turn right at the stop sign and follow the road to the bottom of the hill. There will be campus police directing traffic into the structure.

Shuttles will run from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm to take guests to and from the parking structure to the Jenny Craig Pavilion. 

DISABLED PARKING

There will be signs and personnel providing direction to disable parking. Addtionally, there will be shuttles running from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm to take guests to and from the parking structure to the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

Directions to USD

GOING NORTH ON INTERSTATE 5

  • Take  I-8 East
  • Exit Morena Boulevard
  • Turn RIGHT on Linda Vista Road
  • Turn LEFT on Alcala Park Way (Main Entrance of USD)
  • Make a RIGHT turn at the stop sign and park in the parking structure at the bottom of the hill

GOING SOUTH ON INTERSTATE 5

  • Exit Seaworld/Tecolote Drive
  • Turn LEFT at the signal
  • Turn RIGHT  on Morena Boulevard
  • Turn LEFT on Napa Street
  • Turn Left on Linda Vista Road
  • Turn LEFT on Alcala Park Way (Main Entrance of USD)
  • Make a RIGHT turn at the stop sign and park in the parking structure at bottom of the hill.

GOING WEST ON INTERSTATE 8

  • Exit Morena Boulevard
  • Turn RIGHT on Linda Vista Road
  • Turn LEFT on Alcala Park Way (Main Entrance of USD)
  • Make a RIGHT turn at the stop sign and park in the parking structure at bottom of the hill.

GOING SOUTH ON INTERSTATE 15 OR 805

  • Take the 163 South
  • Exit Genesee Road and take a RIGHT turn
  • Turn LEFT on Linda Vista Road 
  • Continue on Linda Vista Road for approximately two (2) miles.
  • Turn RIGHT on Alcala Park Way (Main Entrance of USD)
  • Make a RIGHT turn at the stop sign and park in the parking structure at bottom of the hill.

BUS ROUTE

Route 44 stops at the main entrance of USD.


Ticket Information

NUMBER OF TICKETS

It is FREE for guests to attend, but tickets are required. Each graduate will be given a maximum of five (5) tickets.

  • Who Needs a Ticket? Tickets are required for ALL guests (ages 3 years old and older).
  • When you register you will indicate how many tickets you will need (0-5 tickets).
  • If extra tickets become available, students will be emailed the week before the ceremony about when and where you can pick them up. See below for more information about extra ticket distribution.

TICKET DISTRIBUTION

You must register for the Commencement Ceremony to be able to pick-up your tickets. You will need to bring a form of picture ID at pick-up.

DEADLINE TO PICK-UP TICKETS: MAY 11, 2018 BY 3:00 PM

If a student does not claim their tickets by 3:00 pm on Friday, May 11 students will not receive the full number of commencement tickets. However, a student can obtain tickets through the Extra Ticket Distribution process.


OPPORTUNITY DRAWING: RETURN UNWANTED TICKETS BY MAY 11 BY 3:00 PM

Do you have commencement tickets you no longer need or want?

Return unwanted tickets to to the Evaluations Office in room I4-306 (3rd floor of I-400) by 3:00 pm on May 11, 2018 and you will be entered into an opportunity drawing to win a $50 Visa Cash Card!


EXTRA TICKET DISTRIBUTION

If there are extra tickets after the May 11 deadline, graduates will receive an email notification with distribution location and information. If there are extra tickets, distribution will begin Monday, May 14. These tickets will be distributed two-at-a-time per day on a first-come, first-served basis until tickets run out.


LOST TICKETS

Graduates are responsible for picking up and keeping the tickets safe. Unfortunately, if tickets are lost we are unable to replace them. So please keep your tickets in a safe location.

If you are completely unable to pick-up your initial five (5) tickets on the days listed above, please contact the Evaluations Office.
