Lori comes to Mesa with exceptional knowledge and experience in the field of Radiology, science and education. Ms. Covington received her license in Radiology Technology from the Rapid City Regional Medical Center in South Dakota. She went on to earn a B.S. degree in Biology and Chemistry and an M.S. degree in Environmental Toxicology from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls.

Since 2006, Ms. Covington has held the position of pediatric Imaging Technologist for Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. Prior to her graduate studies, she was the Assistant Chief Technologist at Maui Memorial Hospital, and held clinical instruction, QA/QC, CT, MR and Interventional positions at other facilities, including Irvine Regional Hospital. In addition to radiology, she has worked as a Research Associate at BD Biosciences Pharmingen in San Diego, where she worked with product development in molecular imaging and developed a patent in protein folding. In addition, she holds a certificate in project management and is experienced in Six Sigma (lean process).

Ms. Covington is proficient in laboratory, lecture, clinical instruction, and curriculum development. She has high-level computer skills, works with specialized software programs, multimedia, and data analysis, and has excellent skills in the instructional process, including needs analysis and development. She is familiar with the relevant health and safety codes and with quality control/quality assurance and she has experience with budgeting and accreditation compliance. She has published journal articles and is active in various associations, including Challenged America, whose mission is assisting the physically challenged to sail small and large yachts.
