Ms. Sexton holds a B.A. degree in Mathematics from the University of South Florida and a M.A. in Painting from San Diego State University. She holds a Lifetime California Instructor Credential in Fine and Applied Arts and Related Technologies.
Since 1984, Ms. Sexton has been an adjunct professor in Mesa College’s Art Department. Concurrently, for the past four years, she has taught at Southwestern College. From 1994 to 2000, she was a lecturer at San Diego State University. For thirty years she has participated extensively in solo and selected group exhibits.
In addition to her successful teaching experience, Ms. Sexton has been extensively involved in curriculum development at Mesa College, Southwestern College, as well as San Diego State University. During her tenure as Interim Curator/Director of the Mesa College Art Gallery, she has contributed to its success by directing the exhibition program and creating a lecture series. In 1987-88, Ms. Sexton served as Visual Arts Coordinator at Sushi Performance and Art Gallery. Also, from 1985 to 1987, she was a volunteer coordinator and acting Visual Arts Supervisor at Arlington County, Virginia, Cultural Affairs Division.
